The Ming Estate was settled in 1837 by the Honorable James Ming, Post Master, livestock farmer, and grandson of an American Revolutionary commissioned officer. The estate house was tastefully restored in 1990. Riverbend Chapel was dedicated in 2002, and in keeping with the traditions of yesteryear strives to build “happy and cultured homes, where the old fashioned hospitality of former days is preserved”– 1878 Atlas of Franklin County.
Riverbend Chapel is committed to the needs of today’s couples through our “Marriage is Forever” program. It makes available certified counselors for both pre and post-marital sessions using the popular “Prepare/Enrich” profile. There is no charge for these services.
The Ministry – STATEMENT OF FAITH
We believe in one Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, One in essence but three Persons, Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth and all therein. The Eternal Son was manifested in flesh as our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Virgin Mary, conceived of the Holy Spirit. He suffered, was rejected by all and crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, was buried, the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, seen of the angels and the Apostles, justified in the Spirit, preached among the nations, believed on in the world, ascended in glory into heaven, and sat on the right hand of the Father, far above all principalities and powers of darkness, making a show of them openly, triumphing over them in Him.
He shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end. He sent the Holy Spirit, the Comforter who in former times spoke by His Prophets and convicts the world of sin, judgment and righteousness, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, And we believe in one universal Church, the pillar and ground of Truth revealed only in His infallible inerrant Holy Scriptures and built on the foundation of the confessions of the Apostles and Prophets, with our Lord Jesus Christ Himself as the only Chief Corner Stone.
We acknowledge the Lord’s Ordinance of baptism into Him and His Body the Church, symbolizing our identity with the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and the remission of sins. We observe the Lord’s Ordinance of Communion and worship Him around His Table, according to His eternal plan and purpose. We being dead in our sins, He has quickened us in our spirit, soul and body together with Him, having forgiven us all trespasses and are raised together with Him to make us sit together in heavenlies in Christ Jesus our Lord. By grace are we saved through faith, not by works lest any should boast, but unto good works foreordained by the Father for us to walk in. And we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life in Christ of the world to come, world without end. Amen.
